Clocking in at 20 MHz, the 25AA1024 and 25LC1024 are reportedly the industry's fastest 1-Mb SPI serial EEPROM devices. Each operates in temperatures up to +125°C and specifies over one million erase/write cycles and a 200-year data retention.

They require no external memory and no sector erases prior to writes, resulting in faster programming times, lower program voltages, and fewer components. Operating voltage ranges from 1.8V to 5.5V. The 25XX1024 serial EEPROMs are available in eight-pin PDIP, SOIJ, and 5 mm x 6 mm DFN packages with prices ranging from $2.43 to $2.73 each/10,000. MICROCHIP TECHNOLOGY INC., Chandler, AZ.
