A new set of USB-based development boards suits a number of Motorola microcontrollers. The Starter Kits for Motorola HCS08 and HCS12 devices cost only $49. They have an on-board USB to BDM interface. The inDart-HCS12 and inDart-HCS08 provide a more sophisticated environment with a socketed processor. The boards support device voltages from 2.2 to 5 V. Kits start at $299 and come with Metrowerks' CodeWarrior IDE.

I earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Masters in Computer Science from Rutgers University. I still do a bit of programming using everything from C and C++ to Rust and Ada/SPARK. I do a bit of PHP programming for Drupal websites. I have posted a few Drupal modules.
