LynxOS 4.0 supports Motorola single-board computer

MVME6100 combined with operating system provides data transfer eight times faster than standard VME64 boards.

LynuxWorks says that LynxOS v4.0, the POSIX-conformant hard real-time operating system (RTOS), supports Motorola’s VMEbus single-board computers, the MVME6100 series.

They use the Tundra Tsi148 VMEbus interface chip to implement the 2eSST (two edge source synchronous transfer) protocol. This apparently delivers a data transfer rate across Motorola’s VMEbus series that is roughly eight times better than the 40Mbps achieved by VME64 boards. It is for use in mission-critical applications in the defence and aerospace industries.
