CompactPCI Carrier Board Accepts PCI Mezzanine Cards

Aug. 1, 1999

With the CP390 3U CompactPCI board, CompactPCI system builders have at their disposal a vast array of PCI mezzanine cards for integration into their standard and hot-swap systems. The CP390 board offers a 3U form factor, which is handy for designers developing their CompactPCI systems around a 3U single-board computer. The board accepts IEEE 138.1-compliant PMC modules. An active master/slave CompactPCI interface turns any PMC module into a backplane-pluggable CompactPCI board. Both standard and hot-swap versions of the carrier board are offered. The hot-swap version provides additional circuits to enable PMC modules with plug-and-play software drivers to take advantage of the hot-swap features of CompactPCI. There’s also an extended temperature version.
