It seems that no one carries a mere phone anymore. The latest handhelds pack all kinds of multimedia features, and the Motorola A630 is no exception. When it's closed, it looks like an ordinary cell phone. But flip it open, and you'll find a full QWERTY keyboard and a 176- by 220-pixel, 65,000-color landscape display. Combine this with the A630's 4X digital zoom VGA camera, and you've got the tools for Multi-Media Messaging Service (MMS). A polyphonic speaker provides clear sound for these messages, MP3 ringtones, Internet access, and games. Five-way navigation and a dedicated keypad enhance the gaming experience. On-the-go users can even cut the cord via its Bluetooth technology, using the optional headset to chat while the phone is packed away in a briefcase. Users can free up their memory by downloading content from the phone into their PC or Mac via Bluetooth as well. The A630 should be available in the third quarter. For details, go to
