Matrix Control Board Creates Custom USB Interfaces

Jan. 1, 2001

Offered as a development kit for the USB, the X-keys Keyboard Matrix Control Board is a reprogrammable keypad for use with any application or PC-based keyboard input and is available for the USB keyboard port. Essentially, it is a matrix programmable keyboard controller that uses standard HID keyboard signals.
Each switch on the board can be programmed with multiple keyboard keys. An on-board EEPROM stores the keys so that the keyboard can be used on any USB system without software after programming. A slide switch activates the program mode that allows programming each key individually. The board is priced at $59.95 list.
