The new Panel-Touch development kit includes everything an embedded system designer needs to create instruments with a state-of-the-art touchscreen front panel and a graphical user interface. The kit includes an enhanced configuration of the companyÕs Panel-Touch controller, a palm-size computer with a real-time multitasking operating system, serial connectors, pre-coded device drivers, 256K of flash and 128K of RAM, white-on-blue 128 x 240 pixel display, and a 4-row by 5-column transparent touchscreen overlay with pre-coded menu control software. The Panel-Touch controller provides users with 48 digital and analog I/O lines, RS-232 and RS-485 serial ports, built-in QED-Forth or C development software, and a graphical user interface. A pre-coded button manager and several graphics libraries are also included to implement a menu-driven front panel. The kit also includes battery-backup of the 128K RAM on the QED flash board, a nine-pin serial cable, power supply, and documentation.
