Let’s Talk Tech at APEC — and Maybe Share a Tiki Nightcap

Three of Electronic Design’s most colorful editors will be attending North America’s leading power conference and would love to meet you if you’re planning to attend APEC 2026 in San Antonio, Texas.
March 9, 2026

What you'll learn:

  • Electronic Design’s Alix Paultre, James Morra, and Lee Goldberg will be on the hunt for new developments in power technology at APEC 2026 and would like to get your perspective on the state of the power sector—or just catch up on industry gossip.
  • Be sure to look for us at the event’s opening reception on Monday evening, or at one of the conference’s many exciting technical sessions.
  • Or maybe catch us after hours at one of San Antonio’s notorious Tiki bars!

If you plan to attend the APEC 2026 power technology conference in San Antonio (March 22-26), be sure to keep an eye out for three of Electronic Design’s illustrious (infamous?) editors who will be soaking up the tech sessions, cruising the bustling exhibit floor, and eager to chat with you. Alix Paultre’s flamboyant style (including schematic tattoos), James Morra’s rakish good looks, and Lee Goldberg’s 110-dB Hawaiian shirts will make them easy to spot, so be sure to say hi if you see them.

You can also catch the Intrepid Trio during the Monday evening welcome reception. There, they welcome the chance to speculate with you on the future of our industry, swap industry gossip, or entertain suggestions for stories you’d like to see on Electronic Design.

READER ALERT: There's also a persistent rumor that James, Alix, and Lee may be planning a post-reception expedition to one of the city’s legendary Tiki bars to enjoy a recap and a nightcap with a few friends.

If you’re interested in meeting up at APEC, stay tuned here for updates, or contact Lee at this link.

About the Author

Lee Goldberg

Contributing Editor

Lee Goldberg is a self-identified “Recovering Engineer,” Maker/Hacker, Green-Tech Maven, Aviator, Gadfly, and Geek Dad. He spent the first 18 years of his career helping design microprocessors, embedded systems, renewable energy applications, and the occasional interplanetary spacecraft. After trading his ‘scope and soldering iron for a keyboard and a second career as a tech journalist, he’s spent the next two decades at several print and online engineering publications.

Lee’s current focus is power electronics, especially the technologies involved with energy efficiency, energy management, and renewable energy. This dovetails with his coverage of sustainable technologies and various environmental and social issues within the engineering community that he began in 1996. Lee also covers 3D printers, open-source hardware, and other Maker/Hacker technologies.

Lee holds a BSEE in Electrical Engineering from Thomas Edison College, and participated in a colloquium on technology, society, and the environment at Goddard College’s Institute for Social Ecology. His book, “Green Electronics/Green Bottom Line - A Commonsense Guide To Environmentally Responsible Engineering and Management,” was published by Newnes Press.

Lee, his wife Catherine, and his daughter Anwyn currently reside in the outskirts of Princeton N.J., where they masquerade as a typical suburban family.

Lee also writes the regular PowerBites series
