120-W quarter-brick DC/DC converters have four package styles
TDK Corp. has announced the introduction of the GQA120 series of 120-W industrial grade DC/DC converters. Four package types allow product performance to be optimized for the application. The series can accept a 12-VDC or 24-VDC nominal input, making it suitable for ruggedized communication equipment, automated vehicle-mounted electronics, trackside rail and marine radar, and navigation applications.
5-V, 12-V, 15-V, 24-V, 28-V, and 48-V nominal outputs are available and can be adjusted ±10% using the trim function. The 5-V to 28-V models will operate with a 9- to 36-VDC input, and the 91.5% efficient 48-V output model from 18 to 36 VDC. All models can withstand a 1-s surge of up to 50-V. The GQA120 will automatically recover following an input undervoltage, output overvoltage, overcurrent, or over-temperature condition.
Input to output isolation is 3,000 VDC for the flanged encapsulated models, 2,250 VDC for the encapsulated nonflanged version, and 1,500 VDC for the open-frame version. The series is safety-certified to IEC/EN/UL 60950-1 with CE marking for the Low Voltage and RoHS2 directives.
