Richardson RFPD offers ADI GaAs MMIC switch

Sept. 5, 2017

Geneva, IL. Richardson RFPD Inc. has announced the availability of and full design support capabilities for a new GaAs MMIC switch from Analog Devices Inc.

The HMC784AMS8GE is a high-power SPDT switch in an 8-lead MSOPG package for use in transmit-receive applications that require very low distortion at high input-signal power levels. The new switch can control signals from DC to 4 GHz and provides intermodulation performance of greater than +60 dBm third order intercept at a bias of +5 V. On-chip circuitry allows single positive supply operation from +3 VDC to +8 VDC at very low DC current with control inputs compatible with CMOS logic families.

The 10 W SPDT switch is suitable for cellular/4G infrastructure, automotive telematics, mobile radio, and test-equipment applications.

Additional key features of the HMC784AMS8GE include input P1dB of +40 dBm at VDD = +8 V and insertion loss of 0.3 dB. The MSOP8G package measures 14.8 mm2.
