Linear Technology Corporation (www.linear.com) has introduced the LTC6652, a precision low noise series voltage reference with an initial accuracy of 0.05% and maximum voltage drift of 5ppm/°C.

Linear Technology Corporation has introduced the LTC6652, a precision low-noise series voltage reference with an initial accuracy of 0.05% and maximum voltage drift of 5 ppm/°C. The device is said to offer excellent load and line regulation, and noise of only 2.1 ppm. The combination of precision, low noise, and a –40 °C to 125 °C temperature range suits the device for high-performance, high-temperature automotive applications.

With an output current drive of ±5 mA, the LTC6652 provides an accurate A/D converter voltage reference without requiring a separate buffer. It operates with supply voltages up to 13.2 V and has a dropout voltage of 300 mV.

A shutdown feature allows the quiescent current to be reduced from 350 uA to less than 2 uA. Board space is minimized since the LTC6652 does not require a load capacitor. The LTC6652 family is offered in seven output voltages: 1.25 V, 2.048 V, 2.5 V, 3.0 V, 3.3 V, 4.096 V and 5 V. Prices start at $1.65 each in 1,000-piece quantities.
