Board-to-Board Connector Rides Low In The Saddle

Feb. 1, 2010
the SlimStack board-to-board series connectors may be the smallest of their kind available
With a 0.4-mm pitch, 0.7-mm mated height, and 2.6-mm width, the SlimStack board-to-board series connectors may be the smallest of their kind available. Viable contenders for use in mobile phones, PDAs, digital cameras, and camcorders, the connectors employ a two-point contact design and a 0.18-mm wipe length. Other features include nickel-barrier plating, tactile feedback, and gold-plated terminals. SlimStack connectors are available with 20 to 50 circuits and have four solder tabs on each mating side and specify a 50V/0.3A rating. MOLEX INC., Lisle, IL. (800) 786-6539.
