The connectors are ready for use on PCBs ranging in thickness from 2.36 mm to 4.19 mm. They come with industry-standard x4 and x8 links, found in servers, and in a 280-position size for riser cards that provide support for PCI Express, PCI, or PCI-X add-in cards. Connectors are also available in x1 or x16 link widths. Each PCI Express lane provides differential transmit and receive signal pairs that support a 2.5-Gb/s data rate in each direction.
