Coming to the aid of design teams faced with increasing design complexities and decreasing product-life cycles, the codelab family of embedded software development tools and evaluation boards allows the designer to choose their own software, including any RTOS and any CPU and compiler. The family includes an integrated development environment (code|lab EDE), a hardware-assisted remote debugger and connection (code|lab Debug and code|lab Partner), and a CPU platform series (code|lab Solution Platform and code|lab evaluation boards).
These tools are said to work right out of the box in a configuration that is customized to meet the exact combination of requirements for individual product designers. Software solutions include hardware-assisted debugging, breakpoint conditions that take into consideration any combination of logic signals, delay triggers, and pass counts. Hardware tools include a motherboard, evaluation board, and daughter board supporting an assortment of CPUs. Peripheral support includes IDE/ATA, floppy drives, parallel ports, serial ports, IRDA, Ethernet, keyboard, mouse, VGA, CompactFlash, USB, and three PCI slots.
