Coordinating size, performance, and power consumption, the Gecko single-board computer is based on the EPIC open standard released earlier this year as a collaborative effort by the company, Micro/sys, Ampro Computers, Octagon Systems, and WinSystems. The board is mid-way in size between EBX and PC/104 and relies on an AMD GX-5000 processor, which does not require a fan, to specify a power consumption of 5W during normal operation. Board features include up to 512 MB of RAM, AGP video with flat panel support, analog and digital I/O, IDE interface, compact flash socket, 10/100 Ethernet, USB, audio, plus LPT and COM ports.
