Industrial Connectors Offer Reliable Latching

Aug. 1, 2000

Dependable shielding and secure latching are characteristics of this new series of six-pin IEEE-1394 connectors. The surface-mount cable plug system is designed for rugged applications such as factory automation machines, instrumentation and industrial cameras.
An outer shell design on both the plug and socket is said to offer superior EMI/RFI protection. Six friction grounding fingers provide additional shielding and mating stability. The system can reach reported speeds up to 400 Mbps and is IEEE-1394-1995 compliant.
The right-angle socket features a diecast shell that provides robust construction and four screw lock locations for secure panel and pc board mounting. Available in 6-6 and 6-4 circuit configurations, pricing is $15.50 each/100,000.
