The PC/104-based 104-COM-8SM and 104-COM-4SM eight- and four-port, asynchronous, serial communication boards, respectively, support field-selectable RS-232/422/485 communication. Their ports are accessed via two 40-pin IDC type right angle header

The PC/104-based 104-COM-8SM and 104-COM-4SM eight- and four-port, asynchronous, serial communication boards, respectively, support field-selectable RS-232/422/485 communication. Their ports are accessed via two 40-pin IDC type right angle header connectors and they include an Auto-RTS feature, said to ease half-duplex RS-485 communications. Shared features include 16780 UARTS, 64-byte transmit/receive FIFO buffers, and a crystal oscillator that accommodates baud rates up to 921.6 Kb/s. Both are supported by popular operating systems and include a DOS, Linux, and Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP software package. This package includes sample programs and source code in C and Pascal for DOS and C/C++, C++ Builder, Delphi, and Visual C++ for Windows.
