PCIe Packet Processor Card Boosts Telecom Apps

The WANic 5654 PCI Express packet processor card allows telecom developers to examine the content of traffic, gather statistics, perform traffic shaping and routing, and add other content-aware services. Supporting up to 12 processors, it is a four-port Gigabit Ethernet IP card employing the latest Cavium OCTEON Plus CN5650-NSP processor running at 600 MHz. Designed for NEBS compliance, the WANic 5654 delivers up to 4 Gb/s of line speed packet processing for layers two to seven and features x4 PCI Express connectivity plus support for XAUI Ethernet board-to-board interfacing for multi-card implementations. Other features include up to 4 GB of DDR2 SDRAM and four front-access Gigabit Ethernet ports; 1000 Base-T or 1000 Base-SX, either copper or fiber.
