Adding to the GateFlow group of installed-core boards, the Model 6821-422 receiver debuts as a complete, pre-configured digital software radio subsystem that promises to eliminate FPGA-development time. It accepts front-panel input and delivers real or complex digital output samples, translated to baseband from any frequency slice of the input. Based on the Model 6821 215-MHz a/d converter VME with dual Virtex-II Pro FPGAs, the 6821-422 includes a digital down converter IP core that presents no licensing fees. Other features include a data-acquisition front end, four sets of programmable FIR coefficients, and ruggedized and conduction-cooled versions. Support is via the company’s C-callable libraries. Single-unit price for the receiver starts at $17,495 with a delivery time of 10 weeks ARO. PENTEK INC., Upper Saddle River, NJ. (201) 818-5900.
