SBC Seeks Less Demanding Applications

Nov. 1, 2000

Targeting industrial control applications that require a cost-effective, low-end processor board, the IND-486H 486DX2/66 half-size single-board computer (SBC) is designed to utilize the ISA bus. The board measures only 7" x 4.8" and is based on STMicroelectronics' STPC client-server chipset that includes a 486DX2/66 CPU core with an integral VGA controller.
System memory is expandable up to 64 MB, and there is also support for up to 8 MB of on-board, soldered-in memory. Other features include a 2-MB PROMDISK disk emulator and four 32-pin sockets that support EPROMs, flash EPROMs, and SRAMs.
For I/O, the board includes one IrDA port, two RS-232 ports, a dual floppy disk port, and a PCI EIDE hard-disk port capable of supporting up to two drives.
