More sophisticated graphical user interfaces in automotive electronics, home and industrial controls, and high-performance consumer applications led Spansion to developed the FL Dual-Quad serial peripheral interface (SPI) family. The 3.0-V multi-I/O (single, dual, quad, and dual-quad-I/O) DDR serial flash memory is available in 256- and 512-Mbit densities. Its 80-MHz DDR read speed (160-Mbyte/s read throughput) accelerates graphic performance. Programs run at 3 Mbytes/s, with erase times of up to 1.0 Mbyte/s. It features industrial and automotive in-cabin temperature ranges. Enhanced write protection comes with individual sector protect and OTP. Packaging is an 8- by 6-mm, 24-ball BGA. Its footprint support current Quad SPI, Dual-Quad SPI, and next-generation, higher-speed flash memories.
