A 30% performance improvement is said to be achieved thanks to a new speed grade in firm's XC4000XL FPGA family of devices. The new speed grade, designated by -08, is said to deliver a total performance increase of up to 30% thanks to the combination

A 30% performance improvement is said to be achieved thanks to a new speed grade in firm's XC4000XL FPGA family of devices. The new speed grade, designated by -08, is said to deliver a total performance increase of up to 30% thanks to the combination of process advancements and performance and 50% runtime improvements in the next generation of Foundation Series and Alliance Series software. Adjusting multiple threshold voltage levels and the electrical channel length contribute to the improved SRAM-based FPGA performance. The initial device with the new speed grade is available for the XC4036 device and on other family members.
