The single-channel FOD0708 and dual FOD0738 optocouplers, armed with the company's patented Optoplanar technology, promise to reduce package capacitance by more than 30% when compared to similar devices. Reportedly, this reduction in capacitance leads to a guaranteed minimum CMR rating of 25 kV/µs, said to be two-and-a-half times higher than the closest competitor, and a common-mode immunity of 50 kV/µs with a 2 kV pulse. The 15 Mb/s optocouplers feature a push-pull detector that eliminates the need for pull-up resistors, reducing power consumption, and guarantee operation beyond the full industrial temperature range of -40°C to +100°C. Additionally, both devices include up to 2.5 kVRMS of isolation. The devices are available in lead-free packages, prices for the FOD0708 and FOD0738 are $1.45 and $2.83 each/1,000, respectively.
