Electronic Design Invests in Test & Measurement Coverage

Dec. 8, 2021
Hello. I am Bill Wong, Senior Content Director managing Electronic DesignEvaluation Engineering, and Microwaves & RF. After much thought and discussion, we have decided to incorporate Evaluation Engineering, and it’s now part of Electronic Design. All of its content can be found on the Electronic Design website.

Test and measurement has been evolving over the years. Sensors are at crux of the internet of things so we are looking to expand our coverage in these areas. We are also seeing more integration with technologies we cover in Electronic Design so it made sense to bring all this together in one publication.

Evaluation Engineering editor Alix Paultre is now Editor-at-Large for the Design & Engineering Group that includes Electronic Design and Microwaves & RF. Over the course of the last two years, he expanded the coverage of Evaluation Engineering to all aspects of test and measurement, sensors, and development tools. He also originated the Kit Close-Up video series, which will continue to grow on Electronic Design. Alix has always stressed how test and measurement has been integral to electronic engineering and design and that it affects all aspects of development and deployment.

The Evaluation Engineering newsletter now will be called Electronic Design Evaluation and Test News. This will include articles and videos for our Test & Measurement channel as well as articles and videos for related TechXchanges and multi-part series in the Electronic Design Library.

We will continue the tradition of bringing the latest electronic technology and insight to you on the web and in print. The Evaluation Engineering digital archives will be available on Electronic Design in 2022, so you can download digital editions that you may have missed.

We will be celebrating our 70th anniversary in 2022 and look forward to covering the electronic industry for another 70 years.
