The next generation AFBR-776/786BxxZ 12-channel parallel optic modules provide a throughput of 6.25 Gb/s per channel for an aggregate of 75 Gb/s per link at distances up to 100m. Reportedly an industry first, the devices include two-wire serial interface monitoring capabilities for expanding per channel functionality and programmability. Also available, the AFBR-775/785BxxZ 12 channel parallel optic modules deliver 5 Gb/s per channel for a combined rate of 60 Gb/s per link at distances up to 150m. Both AFBR-776/786BxxZ and AFBR-775/785BxxZ series devices consume less than 53 mW per gigabit and rely on the SNAP12 form factor to provide dependable signal integrity. The AFBR-776/786BxxZ and AFBR-775/785 are available now and consist of a transmitter and receiver pair. Pricing begins in the $1,000 range. AVAGO TECHNOLOGIES, San Jose, CA. (800) 235-0312.
