High Power GaAs MMIC Amplifier Suits C-Band Radar Apps

Sept. 12, 2013
2-stage, 8 W saturated C-band power amplifier operating between the 5.2 – 5.9 GHz frequency band with 37% power added efficiency is fully matched to 50 Ω on both the input and output.

Macom’s MAAP-011027 2-stage, 8 W saturated C-band power amplifier operates between the 5.2 – 5.9 GHz frequency band with 37% power added efficiency. Packaged in a lead-free 5 mm 20-lead PQFN, the amplifier is fully matched to 50 Ω on both the input and output. The amplifier is usable as a power amplifier stage or as a driver stage in high power pulsed applications, and is ideally suited for point-to-point radios and C-band radar applications. Featuring 20 dB linear gain and +39 dBm pulsed saturated output power, the device is RoHS compliant and 260°C reflow compatible. The MAAP-011027 belongs to a new family of high power GaAs MMIC amplifiers that cover L-, S-, C- and X-Band. Production quantities and samples of the MAAP-011027 GaAs MMIC power amplifier are available from stock.
