Featuring a compact footprint, the Series 60A 3-in-1, multifunction joystick integrates an optical encoder, joystick, and pushbutton onto a single shaft. The component replicates the functionality of a stationary mouse, trackball, and/or similar position-sensing device. Target applications include medical, automotive audio, industrial, avionics, navigation, and test and measurement where use of standard position sensing devices might be impractical. Functionality centers on the encoder with an optically coupled 2-bit digital output. The joystick specifies a lifespan of one million rotational cycles and one-half million actuations in each direction. The 60A terminates with a cable/connector assembly and is available with 18° or 20 detent positions per rotation. Average pricing is $26.96 each/1,000. GRAYHILL INC., LaGrange, IL. (800) 217-1305.
