Measuring 16 mm in diameter and 62.4 mm in length, the HG16 series dc gearmotors integrate the gear train and an optional encoder. The series includes 12 models with operating voltages of 6V, 12V, and 24V and four gear ratios of 30:1, 60:1, 120:1 and 240:1. Torque varies from 3.47 oz-in. (30:1) to 6.94 oz-in. (240:1). Short -direction stall torques for the HG16-030AA (30:1 ratio at 6V) reach 11oz-in. and the HG16-240AC exceed 56.0 oz-in. The optional miniature encoder allows users to position the motor in increments of 75, 150, 160, and 200 counts per revolution. No-load speeds range from 390 rpm in 30:1 models and down to 60 rpm in 240:1 models. Typical applications include medical equipment, printers, and security cameras. Pricing for a gearmotor with encoder is $27 each/1,000. NIDEC COPAL USA INC., Torrance, CA. (310) 782-6102.
