The royalty-based Encirq Framework V2.2 is a small-footprint (starting at 24 kbytes) database management system (DBMS) designed for embedded applications. The Encirq PL programming language, an enhanced SQL language, compiles directly to C code. This makes it suitable for C/C++ and Java applications. The DBMS also attains faster embedded transaction performance by improving the commit times at a minor increase in memory utilization. The new version lets designers open and close the storage manager without opening and closing data files as well. And, the system has a user extensible B-Tree architecture.
