The SA100, described as a straightforward digital counter, accepts quadrature encoder outputs and displays either rotational or linear position on its numeric display. Fully operational out of the box, the display does not require optional plug-in boards or a configuration process. Users connect a rotary or linear encoder to the interface on the rear panel and then use the included 12-Vdc supply to power up the component, which displays position data immediately. Capable of displaying either linear or rotational units, front-panel settings include error compensation, zeroing, scaling, count direction, and display resolutions.
