Sub-Compact SBC Takes On Demanding Multimedia Chores

Running on an NS Geode GX1, 300 MHz processor, the GENE-4312E sub-compact single-board computer (SBC) id designed for demanding multimedia and networking applications, as well those that require a very compact footprint. The on-board Geode processor is a low-power CPU that can be operated in a fan-less environment.An on-board graphics controller supports both non-interlaced CRTs and up to 18-bit, TFT LCDs and can display resolutions up to 1,280 x 1,024 at 8-bpp color depth. An integrated AC-97 2.0, Sound Blaster-compatible audio interface supports multistream DirectSound and DirectSound 3D audio technology.Other features include a NS Cx5530a chipset, dual PCI-bus Intel 82559ER Fast Ethernet interfaces, and a 144-pin SO-DIMM socket that supports up to 128 MB of SDRAM. In addition, two serial ports, one parallel port, and a socket for Compact Flashdisk Type I/II are also provided. Low quantity pricing is about $370 each.
