Monitor Keeps Tabs On Static

March 1, 2002

Providing constant vigilance to prevent ESD damage to semiconductors and pc boards, the 790 static monitor measures the voltage potential on a person referenced to earth ground. The user inserts a dual-conductor ground cord into one of the input jacks and selects the maximum- acceptable voltage level needed for a specific job via a slide switch. Three audible and visible alarms indicate voltages exceeding the set-point limit, loss of contact between arm and wristband, or if the monitor disconnects from ground. 3M ELECTRONIC HANDLING AND PROTECTION DIV., Austin, TX.
