DSP Cores Target Communications Uses

Dec. 1, 1999
The TeakLite and Teak DSP cores, Ethernet 10/100 MAC and IEEE 1394 Link cores are targeted for XDSL/cable modems, 3G cellular handsets, Voice Over IP (VoIP), Ethernet switches/hubs/NICs/routers, and Internet appliances such as digital set-top boxes.

The design environment used for these cores is Cubicware, which enables optimization of ASICs for power consumption, die size, and performance. Designers can customize many functions on a single ASIC while using pre-defined standards-compliant building blocks. This portfolio enables designers to implement applications ranging from Small Office/Home Office (SOHO), multi-port switching hubs and routers to single-port NIC solutions.
