Claimed as the industry’s smallest cable-to-board mini-coaxial connector, the new AYU-1 series has a mounting area of 3 mm x 3 mm on a pc-board and a height of 2 mm when mated with an appropriate cable plug. Designed for applications operating from dc to 3 Ghz, these SMT connectors are effective for high-density telecommunications equipment such as cellular phones, PDAs, and wireless data collection devices. The AYU-12 series is said to have excellent frequency performance with a VSWR of 1.3 maximum or less, from dc to 3 Ghz. With a 50 ohms impedance rating and operating between a range of .045 Ghz to 3 Ghz, these connectors perform comparably to much larger coax types, the company says. Dielectric withstanding voltage is 150 Vacrms. and temperature range is -20°C to +90°C. JST CORP., Waukegan, IL. (800) 947-1110.
