Space-Saving Reference Designs Streamline AI Data Centers

Power Integrations unveiled space-saving auxiliary PSU reference designs for NVIDIA Kyber 800-V DC AI data centers.

Offering space savings, simplified designs, improved reliability, and up to 88% efficiency, Power Integrations' latest compact auxiliary power-supply reference designs for 800-V DC AI data centers are optimized for the NVIDIA Kyber liquid-cooled, blade-rack architecture. The single-output, 15-W design measures 30 × 30 mm with a 7-mm profile, while the isolated, six-rail, 35-W design is sized at 80 × 60 mm with an 8-mm profile. 

The reference designs free up approximately 30% space on main power-distribution boards, with an estimated 30% reduction in the BOM count to help streamline design and improve overall reliability. Both designs leverage the company's InnoMux-2 ICs with 1,700-V PowiGaN GaN technology. The InnoMux-2 IC supports a 1,000-V DC nominal input voltage in a flyback configuration and can deliver flat efficiency of up to 90% in discontinuous conduction mode while maximizing power delivery. 

The DER-1110 design integrates the IMX2353F to deliver a 35-W, multi-output flyback PSU for auxiliary power supplies used in high-voltage AI data centers. And the DER-1114 design employs the IMX2353F to deliver a 15-W, single-output flyback PSU for auxiliary power supplies targeted at high-voltage AI data centers.
