Designed specifically for cellular TDMA applications, the TQ5121 is a 3V RF receiver IC that satisfies both the digital TDMA IS-136 standard and the analog cellular AMPS standard. The TQ5121 is pin-compatible with the company's earlier TQ9222 dual-band receiver IC, enabling OEMs to use the same pc board design for both single-band cellular and dual-band TDMA handsets. In addition, the TQ5121 can be used for receiving functions in products designed for the 900-MHz ISM band. The IC's small size and high performance make it useful in any TDMA or AMPS handset or ISM equipment application. Typical conversion gain is 17.5 dB with noise figure of 2.7 dB over operating conditions and frequency. Input third-order intercept point is -8.5 dBm minimum. A high-side LO frequency approach is used to enable low IF capability within an IF range of 70 to 140 MHz.
